Light & Wonder has been in a bit of hot water recently but this time there’s more positive news for the company, which has acquired a 20% equity stake in UK-based slot studio Bang Bang Games.
The move is part of Light & Wonder’s wider strategy to back emerging talent and expand the global reach of content.
Bang Bang Games is already making a name for itself across the UK and European markets, and has been steadily building momentum in North America through a previously formed collaboration with Light & Wonder.
Now, with the aforementioned investment, the partnership enters a new phase aimed at scaling Bang Bang’s growth on a global level.
The equity deal comes under the umbrella of Light & Wonder’s Spark program — an initiative designed to help game studios grow by providing resources, technical support, and market access.

Bang Bang Games CEO Frank McPolin echoed the comments made by Banks, highlighting how well the existing partnership has been going and how the future looks with the expansion.

This announcement comes after Light & Wonder already making moves recently to broaden its portfolio, including partnerships with Incentive Games and Warner Bros., and the distribution of The Wizard of Oz slots via BetMGM.
With this latest deal, it is showcasing the company’s commitment to both supporting high-quality, innovative content while also expanding its footprint into other regulated markets.
