With the Google Pixel 9a and the iPhone 16e, it seems natural to make comparisons between the two phones, given how they fit into a similar price range, but now Google seems to be offering this comparison directly on the Google Store, and in rather surprising detail.
What’s more is that this is a pretty robust comparison that has its own dedicated page. You might expect to see such a comparison on the buy page for the Pixel 9a. However, Google’s dedicated page for comparing the two phones is essentially like a blog post. With a title, a full breakdown of the specs of both devices, and even dedicated sections that focus on big features.
And of course, there’s a buy button on this page as well. Because, why wouldn’t there be? Google is trying to get customers to buy the Pixel 9a, after all.
Google compares the Pixel 9a to the iPhone 16e on the Google Store
It makes sense for Google to do a comparison on the Google Store directly. If it convinces the consumer to buy the device, then it has already brought the consumer into the store to finalize the purchase. And as mentioned above, there’s a buy button right on this comparison post.
The interesting part about this, too, is that the price is almost the first thing Google focuses on between the two phones. Under a short blurb focusing on Google being huge Pixel fans, you’ll see the cost of both Pixel 9a storage options, and the prices of the iPhone 16e in its three variants. Google also talks about the price a little more in detail at the bottom of its post.
There’s a big focus on photography and AI
Photography and AI are two pillar components of Pixel phones these days. So it should come as no surprise that Google has two larger sections of its comparison that focus on these two things. The Pixel 9a is the latest phone to come with Gemini, and it is a Pixel phone, so the camera will, of course, be a focal point as well. Google says that “Pixel phones are known for their excellent photography,” and Google is right.
The company is also keen to point out that the iPhone 16e uses a single camera system for the main camera on the back, while the Pixel 9a has two rear camera sensors.
