Ganduje Has No Political Value, Owes Position to Tinubu – Buba Galadima

A prominent stakeholder in the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Engr. Buba Galadima, has dismissed the political relevance of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, insisting that the former Kano State governor owes his position solely to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Galadima, in an interview with The Guardian, was reacting to recent claims that the NNPP’s 2023 presidential candidate, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, was planning to return to the APC.

Describing the speculation as false and mischievous, Galadima accused Ganduje of exploiting the names of Kwankwaso and the NNPP to stay in the media spotlight.

“I am hearing this from you. So, if we are going to APC, Nigerians will hear this from Ganduje? Even because of him, nobody would like to go to APC,” he said.

Taking a swipe at the APC national chairman, Galadima stated, “It is only Tinubu that can make a Ganduje chairman of a party. How can Ganduje be chairman of anything?”

He further accused the APC leadership of confusion and desperation, alleging that they were behind repeated falsehoods aimed at discrediting the NNPP.

“They are the people who are keeping us in the press because they are confused. Everything is going asunder across the country,” Galadima said.

“These are the same people who use social media and propaganda to denigrate us in NNPP. If they are not claiming that Kwankwaso is working for President Tinubu, they will gossip that Kwankwaso is going to France to lobby Mr. President.”

He firmly denied any talks or plans for Kwankwaso or the NNPP to return to the ruling party. “There is nothing like that. I can tell you as a matter of fact,” he declared.

Commenting on the APC’s focus on the 2027 general elections, Galadima said, “Only political failures talk about the next election in the middle of their terms,” stressing that the NNPP remains focused on promoting good governance.

Galadima’s comments were in direct response to remarks made by Ganduje at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, where the chairman claimed that Kwankwaso was expected to rejoin the APC following what he described as the collapse of the NNPP after the 2023 elections.
