Why it matters: Articles on this site that cover software vulnerabilities typically include CVE codes, which tech companies worldwide use to identify cybersecurity threats. Funding for the program that manages the CVE database nearly expired this week, potentially endangering global cybersecurity coordination efforts. Although the crisis was averted at the last minute, the cybersecurity community…

In today’s rapidly evolving industries—from pharmaceuticals and cosmetics to food processing and specialty chemicals—manufacturers face increasingly complex formulation challenges. Whether it’s achieving uniform distribution of micro-ingredients, stabilizing emulsions, or ensuring consistent product quality at scale, traditional approaches often fall short. That’s where advanced mixing techniques come into play.
Walk onto any modern manufacturing floor, and you’ll see a network of machines, conveyors, and controls working in tandem to deliver high volumes of packaged goods. But behind the smooth flow of products is often something less visible—a strategic integration of systems engineered to reduce downtime, improve accuracy, and maximize throughput.

San Antonio TX (SPX) Apr 15, 2025 NASA’s Lucy spacecraft is 6 days and less than 50 million miles (80 million km) away from its second close encounter with an asteroid; this time, the small main belt asteroid Donaldjohanson. This upcoming event represents a comprehensive “dress rehearsal” for Lucy’s main mission over the next decade: the exploration of multiple Trojan asteroids that share Jupiter’s orbit around the Sun. Lucy’s first asteroid encounter – a flyby of the tiny main belt asteroid Dinkinesh and its satellite, Selam, on Nov. 1, 2023 – provided the team with an opportunity for a systems test that they will be building on during the upcoming flyby. Lucy’s closest approach to Donaldjohanson will occur at 1:51pm EDT on April 20, at a distance of 596 miles (960 km). About 30 minutes before closest approach, Lucy will orient itself to track the asteroid, during which its high-gain antenna will turn away from Earth, suspending communication. Guided by its terminal tracking system, Lucy will autonomously ro

Apple is planning a massive move towards foldables in the future, and the iPhone is rumored to have a companion.
Antibiotics have long been hailed as life-saving medications, helping the body fight everything from mild colds to life-threatening infections like pneumonia. However, researchers now caution that repeated use of antibiotics, especially during early childhood, may come at a cost.

DOI: 10.1002/adma.202414096 The development of increasingly sophisticated sensors can facilitate the advancement of various technologies, including robots, security systems, virtual reality (VR) equipment and sophisticated prosthetics. Multimodal tactile sensors, which can pick up different types of touch-related information (e.g., pressure, texture and type of material), are among the most promising for applications that can benefit from the artificial replication of the human sense of touch. While electronics engineers have created a wide range of highly sensitive tactile sensors over the past few decades, the accura
