When actress Wendie Malick joined the cast of Apple TV+’s “Shrinking,” she was attentive, as always, to the sustainability standards on set. “If you’re not part of the original cast, it’s harder to come on and start telling people what to do,” Malick, who plays Harrison Ford’s neurologist and love interest, told TheWrap. “Happily, there wasn’t much left for them to do.” Now shooting the third season of the therapy-themed comedy, Malick has been concerned about sustainability in entertainment production for decades. Since 2003, she has been on the board committee for the Environmental Media Association (EMA), a nonprofit whose Green Seal certification stamps Hollywood projects for their eco-conscious methods, spanning from energy efficiency to the use of recyclables. Noah Wyle revealed Monday that his mother, who worked for decades as a nurse, had a more intense reaction to one of his scenes in “The Pitt” than anything she ever saw in his 15 years on “ER.” “My mother was an orthopedic nurse and an operating room nurse,” Wyle explained on NPR’s “Fresh Air.” “She came over for breakfast last Sunday. And she came into the kitchen, and within five seconds of being there, she said, ‘You know, Noah, I can’t stop thinking about last week’s episode and that scene where you were listing all the people who died.’” In Episode 13 of “The Pitt,” Wyle’s Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch has a breakdown after he tries unsuccessfully to comfort Jake (Taj Speights), the son of an ex he’s still close with, following the death of his girlfriend. Overwhelmed by the sheer number of victims who have poured into the ER from the same concert shooting that killed Leah (Sloan Mannino), Jake’s girlfriend, Robby breaks down into shaking sobs when Jake asks why he could not save her. Before he forces J

Former “Bachelorette” Hannah Brown will return to the “Bachelor” franchise in “Bachelor in Paradise” this summer. Brown will head to the beach for “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 10, where she will serve the beach-goers some bubbly at rose ceremonies in the new champagne lounge, ABC announced Tuesday during Hulu’s unscripted event in Los Angeles. She won’t be taking the place of Wells Adams, who returns as the bartender for Season 10 alongside host Jesse Palmer. This season will bring “Bachelor in Paradise” to a new paradise in Costa Rica, after previous installments have been filmed at the Playa Escondida Resort in Sayulita, Mexico. Brown, who is engaged to Adam Woolard, is familiar with “Bachelor in Paradise” after appearing on Season 9 to host a truth-or-truth bonfire with the cast members. Brown dated Colton Underwood on “The Bachelor” Season 23 before eventually leading “The Bachelorette” Season 15. “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 10 shook up its casting by including alum from both “The Bachelor” and “The Ba

Twenty years ago, George Lucas cast Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, a character originally introduced in “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi,” for his prequel “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.” Years later she would return for “Rogue One,” a prequel to the original “Star Wars,” in a brief cameo. She voiced the character on the animated series “Rebels” and popped up on a handful of episodes of “Ahsoka.” But O’Reilly would really get to spread her wings in “Andor,” the live-action Disney+ series from creator Tony Gilroy that dramatized the lead-up to “Rogue One,” with the title character (once again played by Diego Luna) going from listless drifter to a politically resolute figure in the burgeoning Rebellion. With “Andor” Season 2, the final season of this “Star Wars” story, O’Reilly really gets to shine, as we see her complete her transition from senate leader to the principal in a guerrilla war spread across the entire galaxy. It’s really something. And it’s taken O’Reilly wholly offguard. “It’s been quite a surp

Variety came under fire over the weekend for a box office report that dinged Ryan Coogler’s hit horror film, “Sinners,” for having an uphill battle to make a profit despite its impressive $63 million global opening. Ben Stiller and Patrick Schwarzenegger were among the Hollywood figures ganging up on the trade outlet for its questionable framing, defending “Sinners” for its clear box office win and emphasizing that — even in light of its $90 million price tag before expenses for global marketing — the $63 million haul is accounting for just three days. “In what universe does a $60 million opening for an original studio movie warrant this headline?” Stiller tweeted Sunday, re-sharing Variety’s post. That post read: “‘Sinners’ has amassed $61 million in its global debut. It’s a great result for an original, R-rated horror film, yet the Warner Bros. release has a $90 million price tag before global marketing expenses, so profitability remains a ways away.” In what universe does a 60 million dollar opening for an

One of the reasons “The Pitt” is so terrific is because it plays out in real time. It’s not the first show to use the immersive storytelling approach, so if you’re craving more real-time rushes like the HBO hit delivers, these shows should fit the bill. Start with the save-the-world spying heroics of Jack Bauer in “24,” binge Netflix’s nail-biting true crime series “Adolescence,” and maybe catch up with a few TV series like “Grey’s Anatomy” that used the ticking clock device in one memorable episode. Kiefer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub in “24” (CREDIT: Fox) 24 “Events take place in real time,” Kiefer Sutherland told us in his trademark rasp at the start of every episode of this action-packed series that played out in one day over each season. (Back when TV seasons used to have 24 episodes.) He played Counter Terrorist Unit Jack Bauer for 9 seasons and the 2008 follow-up film “24: Redemption,” during which he dealt with assassination attempts, an outbreak of a deadly virus, nuclear threats and moles and fo
