Apple ‘Vision Air’ Power Cable Leaked In Midnight Blue Color, But It Is Different From The One For Vision Pro, Indicating A Major Redesign

Apple is preparing to launch a comparatively cheaper version of the Vision Pro as it is hell-bent on expanding its presence in the AR market. We recently covered details on the company’s latest Vision Air and some of the device’s physical attributes, which show how it will be different from the current version. Today, images of the unreleased “Vision Air” headset’s power cable emerged online from a prototype collector, which is slightly different from the power cable of the Vision Pro.

The power cable of Apple’s forthcoming Vision Air leaked in the Midnight Blue color option

According to the leaker Kosutami, the Apple Vision Air will feature a slimmer overall profile than the Vision Pro, and we think the company is moving in the right direction. It was also detailed that the company will switch internals, such as the battery enclosure and other internal structures, to titanium to reduce the overall weight of the device. However, the device will still be enclosed in an aluminum housing, but the company will not use the same color option as the ‘Pro’ version.

The leaked image of the Vision Air’s power cable shows a dark bluish-black color option, possibly the one that the company implemented on the MacBook Air. It appears that the company is reserving the color for the ‘Air’ lineup of products rather than the ‘Pro.’ The current version of the Vision Pro is only available in silver, making it the only choice for the end user. The leak shows an anodized aluminum connector finished in the new Midnight color option, which also means that the entire device could be the same color.

However, the power cable of the Vision Air is slightly different than that of the Vision Pro. The ‘Pro’ version features a power connector with 12 pins, whereas the leak shows that Vision Air’s power connector will only have 8 pins. This could be due to the low-power-hungry nature of the device, but there have been no details on that front so far. Moreover, it also shows that the power connector is part of the company’s major redesign, especially the external battery pack. The audio connector, on the flip side, appears to be the same as the one on the Vision Pro.

Apple is slated to launch the second-generation Vision Pro with an M5 chip later this year or early next year, but the ‘Air’ model is being greatly rumored as well. If we are lucky, the company could announce the budget variant alongside the Vision Pro 2, but there are no concrete details available on the subject. Would you buy the Vision Air if it cost $2,000?
