Previously, only paying users could access these tools, but now they’re becoming available to all Android users.
One of the biggest updates is screen sharing. Now, when you use Gemini Live, you’ll see a new button that says “Share screen with Live.” (Via: 9to5Google)
Tapping this lets Gemini see what’s on your screen so you can ask it questions about whatever you’re looking at, whether it’s a website, app, or even a document.
While sharing, you’ll notice a small counter in the status bar and a phone-call style notification, both of which let you end the session whenever you like.
The second big feature is camera sharing. When you use Gemini in full screen, you’ll see a camera icon next to the microphone.
Tapping it opens a live camera view, allowing Gemini to see what you’re pointing at. You can switch between front and back cameras, and it helps to hold the phone steady and keep the screen on for the best results.
This is especially useful for identifying things in real life, like asking what kind of plant or object you’re looking at.
To make the whole experience feel smoother, Gemini now includes small vibrations when you interact with it, giving you instant feedback.
These upgrades build on Gemini’s ability to understand and respond to images, PDFs, and even YouTube videos.
Now, it can look at anything on your screen, or anything your camera sees, and help you with it in real time.
And the best part? It’s all free.
While the rollout is gradual, most Android phone and tablet users should have access by the end of the month.
