Directed by Dominic Arun, the film Lokah: Chapter 1 stars Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead role. This Malayalam superhero movie hit theaters on August 28 and has been doing incredibly well, even after 25 days since its release. Despite being out for almost four weeks, Lokah continues to perform amazingly at the box office. It has collected around Rs 4 crore recently. According to the box office tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 54.7 crore in its first week, Rs 47 crore in the second, and Rs 27.2 crore in the third week. On days 23, 24, and 25, it made Rs 1.7 crore, Rs 3.25 crore, and Rs 4 crore respectively, bringing the total collection to Rs 137.75 crore.
The Malayalam version is still attracting large crowds, especially on Sundays with 65.33% overall occupancy. Morning shows had 48.57% seats filled, afternoons were busier at 74.38%, and evening shows saw the highest occupancy at 78.86%. Night shows closed with 59.52% occupancy. These numbers show that many moviegoers in Kerala are still choosing to watch this superhero story weeks after it came out.
Kalyani Priyadarshan plays Chandra, a mysterious woman who arrives in Bengaluru and gets caught up with a gang involved in organ trafficking. Lokah: Chapter 1 is planned as the start of a Malayalam superhero universe, with more chapters to come. Future films will feature stars like Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas. The movie crossed Rs 100 crore in India within 21 days, making it the third Malayalam film ever to do so and the highest-grossing one so far. Alongside Kalyani, the cast includes Naslen K Gafoor, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian, and Vijayaraghavan in important roles.
