Move over, Bugatti Tourbillon, the American-made Hennessey’s Venom F5 Evolution is now the world’s most powerful ICE hypercar with 2,031 horsepower and 300 mph ambitions

Hennessey Special Vehicles has taken a bold step in the world of hypercars with the introduction of the Venom F5 Evolution, a machine that redefines what’s possible with internal combustion. In a time when the automotive industry is shifting rapidly toward electrification, Hennessey is staking a claim for the future of high-performance gas-powered vehicles. The Venom F5 Evolution isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a statement, delivering 2,031 horsepower and setting a new benchmark as the most powerful ICE-only production road car ever built.

At the heart of the Evolution is a massively re-engineered version of Hennessey’s 6.6-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, known as the Fury. Developed in collaboration with Ilmor Engineering—renowned for its motorsport pedigree—the updated powertrain features oval-shaped billet pistons, titanium exhaust valves, billet aluminum connecting rods, and lightweight valve covers.

A pair of Precision 76/80 Next Gen turbochargers, among the largest mirror-image units ever installed on a road car, feed massive amounts of air into the engine. Combined with larger high-flow fuel injectors and Shell E85 fuel, the result is an astonishing output of 2,031 horsepower and 1,445 lb-ft of torque.

Performance figures for the Venom F5 Evolution are equally jaw-dropping. The car can accelerate from 0 to 200 miles per hour in just 10.3 seconds—faster than many high-performance vehicles can hit 60 mph.

While Hennessey has not yet published a verified top speed, the company’s long-standing goal of exceeding 300 mph appears closer than ever, especially with the help of extensive aerodynamic refinements.

Aerodynamicist Dr. Mark Handford, known for his work in Formula One and IndyCar, played a key role in reshaping the Evolution’s body. A new front splitter, tire wake deflectors, single dive planes, front wheel arch louvers, and a Gurney lip on the rear deck spoiler have all been added to enhance high-speed stability and reduce drag. The underbody has also been extensively revised to maximize airflow efficiency.

In addition to the raw performance, the Evolution package includes several practical enhancements. A new adaptive suspension system with six driving modes—Sport, Road, Race, Drag, Wet, and F1—ensures that the car is equally capable on the street and the track. Touring options have been added as well, including bolstered carbon-fiber seats, a quieter exhaust, and a carbon-fiber cupholder.

Priced at $285,000, the Evolution package can be added to new builds or retrofitted to existing Venom F5 models. Hennessey’s commitment to backward compatibility underscores the company’s philosophy of continuous improvement and customer inclusivity. With the Evolution, Hennessey isn’t just pushing limits—it’s rewriting them.
